Scouts from Troop 33 and Troop 43 and Explorers Post 34 organize a bottle collection in West Concord starting at 1 PM. Teams will call at houses to collect all types of bottles under adult supervision and flyer distribution by Cub Pack 33 this week.

Three Concord educators will travel abroad this summer. Miss Miaine M. Hardie of Concord High School wins the Frank M. Gilley Traveling Scholarship and sails to Paris on June 21 to live with rural families including a Morlaix, Brittany household once connected to the postwar aid effort. Miss Beverly N. Gerow of Alcott School joins a Boston University Summer Travel Course sailing June 25 on the Georgic with a itinerary across Wales Netherlands Belgium France Switzerland Denmark Sweden Norway and England returning mid August. Miss Helleen Iske of the Thoreau School plans lectures tied to her kindergarten teaching to aid Concord classes upon her return.
The parade starts at Everett street and travels Thoreau to Main, then to the Mill Dam and Monument square. It proceeds via Lang and Bow streets to Lowell road, loops through the Mill Dam business district, returns via Sudbury and Stow streets, and ends below the high school.
The Concord Board of Selectmen have compiled a new jury list effective July 1 and it will be printed before announcing to the press. It is hoped the list will appear in next week's Enterprise. The piece notes that a typical year sees about 3,000 people move between the United States and Europe through the Mutual Security Agency’s productivity sharing program.
Concord churches announce a 10 week series of joint summer services. From June 29 to July 13 services occur at First Parish with Rev. Nylen in charge. August 17 to 31 services move to Union Church West Concord under Rev. Barber. Early 9:30 a.m. start aims to fit worship with Sunday time.
Miss Gertrude Marie Loynd daughter of Mr and Mrs Francis R Loynd and Benjamin DiRuzzo son of Mrs Anthony DiRuzzo and the late Mr DiRuzzo were married at Our Lady Help of Christians church West Concord. Rev John J Scollan performed the 1 PM ceremony. The bride wore a white silk lace gown with tulle veil and carried white roses and stephanotis. The matron of honor was her sister Mrs George Sumner. best man was David DiRuzzo. The couple plan a Canada trip then reside in West Concord. both are Concord High graduates with the bride employed at the local telephone exchange and the groom in construction in Lexington.
Four local youths graduated in the record class of 1523 at Northeastern University. The group includes Joseph A Gallagher and Chester Kane earning bachelor of arts degrees, and G Sherman Blair Jr and John E Nickerson Jr earning bachelor of laws degrees.
The Delaware River remains a premier shipbuilding hub with active ways at Camden and Philadelphia, among other locations, underscoring its strategic industrial role and capacity.
Concord Lions Club gathered in the dining hall Tuesday under President Charles Wear. It was the last regular meeting until fall, with outdoor cookouts planned in July and August. A new slate headed by Lawrence S. Kendall will assume July 1, and Past President Rothwell N. MacRae led a movie showing.
At the annual Carlisle Branch meeting of the Concord Red Cross Chapter the officers were elected. Mrs Clarence Campbell becomes chairman, Mrs William Shumway vice-chairman, and Mrs Stanley Wright secretary-treasurer.

Concord Grange No 150 hosted its annual Strawberry Festival at Peter Bulkeley School on June 17. Attendees from Acton Lexington Waltham Tyngsboro Hopkinton Hudson Boxboro Westford Stoughton Leominster Southboro and Dunstable heard remarks from State Deputy William Cassidy and Clayton Morse. The lecturer’s march won by Daniel Donahue. The program featured songs dances readings and slides. Strawberry shortcakes and coffee were served to the 120 attendees.
Concord McCabe John 42 of 4 Thoreau Court Boston and Maize Railroad maintenance man suffered head injuries last Saturday when he fell from a hand-car near Concord Avenue and Alewife Brook Parkway Cambridge. He was rushed to Cambridge City Hospital and placed on the danger list.
Movie listings show Scaramouche with Stewart Granger and Janet Leigh starting July 2, Outcast of the Islands with Trevor Revert and Wendy Hiller, plus 3 for Bedroom C with Gloria Swanson. Carson City with Randolph Scott and Raymond Massey, Pride of St Louis with Dan Dailey, and Outcasts of Poker Flat begin July 1.
Concord Council No. 287 Knights of Columbus elevated Deputy Grand Knight Wetherbee of 11 Union Street to grand knight at Monument Hall. Installation of all state officers to occur in the fall with John J. Sheehan as deputy and knight, John F. Donovan as chancellor, and other officers named.
Concord Rotary Club names new officers to be sworn in at today’s luncheon led by Robert D. Parks as president Charles R. Voight as vice president Benjamin F. Clark as secretary John H. Kennedy as treasurer James H. Dee as assistant treasurer Rev. Robert H. Barber as chaplain and E Payson True as past president auditor Robert Bumford as sergeant at arms Bernard E. Megin to direct international service and Charles W. Allen to direct club service upon retirement of Charles W. Allen
Veteran tailor Walden, known in the Concord area, recently had an operation at a Boston hospital. He and his family now reside in Cambridge after living on Main Street in Concord.
The Registry of Motor Vehicles announces a vehicular parade in Concord on Tuesday July 1 starting at 10 a m on Everett Street. The event, tied to July driver education, features police escorts motor vehicle inspectors a Boy Scout band and a guest of honor Registrar Rudolph F King. The procession includes driver education clinic buses driving cars horse drawn carriage bicycles and a cavalcade of antique cars followed by emergency vehicles and a driving skill exhibits at the high school with newer cars shown.
The Enterprise staff were not invited to serve on a Concord parade committee. A vehicular parade is planned for Tuesday in Concord in conjunction with the Registry of Motor Vehicles. The Enterprise belongs to the sponsoring group.
