A meeting is held this Wednesday at 7 30 PM at the fire department house on Nason street to arouse enthusiasm for a Maynard trade parade on July 4th. Previous parades brought amusement and good advertising. merchants are urged to participate for a successful event.

A new fruit store opened in Black's block on Walden Street, in the former John Olsen site. Mr and Mrs J H Whitney and family left for Nova Scotia for vacation, while Mr and Mrs Frank B Cutter closed their Sudbury Road house for a summer in Vigeon Cove. J Malogin Baker, formerly manager of the Concord telephone exchange, now manages in Lynn and visited town Sunday. An explosion at the powder mills awoke many Thursday night, with reports of concussion strength varying. Local businessmen, who ride the 6.59 am train to Boston, were delayed 46 minutes Tuesday morning due to freight trouble at Lake Walden.
