North Sudbury All Stars Open Season with Big Loss

The North Sudbury All Stars lost their home opener to the Columbia Cubs of South Boston 15 to 5 at Dakin's Field on Memorial Day. Campbell and J Cunningham hit well, the local second baseman made an unassisted double play in the third, Gray played right field, and Umpire W Kalilainero officiated.

Concord reports Dick Loftus atop the Bridgeport squad with a 349 average as a star fielder. Ladies Union Lawn Party Planned for June 21

Plans are under way for the annual Lawn Party of the Ladies Union to be held Thursday from two to ten p.m. on the Union Church grounds. Various tables display embroidery, candy, food, and ice cream with numerous chairmen named. The Waltham Watch Co. Band will provide music in the evening.

Concord Junction Improves Plans for Community Gathering

At a recent Concord Junction Improvement Society meeting Kea nan Damon was elected Chairman to organize a Community Gathering. A meeting was set for June 1 at his home and the event, the night before the fourth, will be at Harvey Wheeler School Grounds with a band, public speaking, refreshments, strawberries, ice cream and tonics. Donations can be given to treasurer James Nagel or to Allison H. Willis or Winslow Damon.

Death of J Clesson Parker Reported in Springfield Sanitorium

A. B. Parker received word of his brother J Clesson Parker death at a Springfield area sanitorium. Parker is well known locally with many friends. He leaves a wife a daughter aged 16 and a son 14. A B Parker attended the funeral.

Acton Civil War Veteran Donates $1000 for Grave Care

Top Private William Chaplin aged 83 of the Old Sixth Massachusetts Regiment presents Acton town treasurer with a $1000 check for perpetual care of Civil War veterans graves in Mount Hope Cemetery West Acton. He also funds a $500 granite memorial for the Soldiers' Memorial Grave in the same burial ground.
