Concord records its first automobile fatality since 1945 when Joseph Riley, 24, of Cambridge, died after a car crash on Sudbury Road. Four occupants were in the vehicle. three others were injured, one seriously. Driver Joe Gellegher, 21, Cambridge, was lightly hurt. The crash occurred at 2 45 a.m. as a rear tire blew, sending a car into a tree near Joseph J. Beker Jr. house. Riley died en route to Emerson Hospital. Police and local officials attended his funeral.
Concord High plans a week of senior events culminating in Wednesday graduation at 8 oclock. Maxwell B Lawrence Jr. will deliver the commencement address. George Camoygis, top scholar, will give the farewell. A 96 member class will receive diplomas from Mrs Winslow J Damon with prize awards by Principal Willard H Smith.
Despite heavy rain the British Naval and Military Veteran Association of Massachusetts visited Concord and nearby towns. Veterans honored graves of two British soldiers from April 19 1775 at Old North Bridge and decorated war memorials in Monument Square.

An obituary note recalls Reary family members including two daughters a son and several grandchildren. Mr Prentiss a longtime member of the Concord Fire Department over fifty years is highlighted for his community service.
The funeral for Edward J. Dolan 46 a Reformatory officer who died in a Lincoln Concord turnpike auto crash last Thursday night was held Monday at Our Lady Help of Christians West Concord. Rev Charles McManus S J celebrated the Mass with several priests and a Reformatory officer delegation present. Dolan resided at 202 Avenue and was a regular communicant of the church.
About 25 members of the 1923 Concord High School class and 15 guests gathered Saturday at the Inn Cochituate for a 25th reunion. John Jy Me served as acting chairman with John Guton as vice president and wife. Letters were read from absentees, and a future reunion was planned with Charles E Comeau as chairman. Entertainment was directed by Ralph A. Macone John Gallagher Chath Mayo and John Varley, featuring several musical numbers.
The annual memorial Mass for deceased members of the parish was celebrated at St Bernard's Church at 10 o'clock. Rev Francis J Chams, a new curate, served as celebrant and the service drew a large attendance.
Crowds braved wet weather as Concord veterans gathered at West Concord railroad station for a procession to Sgt Kenneth J. Dunn Square. Due to constant downpour, participants rode in cars to Dunn Square where wreaths were laid and taps played.
