Badly Bitten by Eskimo Dogs at Eagle Island
On Eagle Island near South Harpswell Maine ten year old Margaret Neal of Tufts College was mauled by King the lead Eskimo dog of the Peary pack. The keeper rescued her as twelve dogs fought to reach her. She suffered deep gashes in both legs and feet but was later treated at the Tufts laboratory and rests now. Her father Professor Herbert V Neal and sister were sightseeing on the island when the attack occurred.
