A Maynard man named Charles Bigelow survived an overdose after consuming alcohol at a White Pond clubhouse. The event occurred at night and left him weakened but alive, with authorities investigating the circumstances.
A town clerk records show 72 births 48 deaths and 46 marriages from Jan 1 to July 1. A prominent resident now in Dedham visited the town this week. The Fletcher barn near the corner was struck by lightning Friday night but only lightly damaged. Mr Mitcher's house was also mentioned in the report.
Maynard Civic club met on the lawn of Thomas Hillis in Summer street for a Tuesday night clambake. Rev John A Crowe presided and attended, drawing a large crowd. Secretary Massachusetts Civic Club leader Wellacedees spoke on citizen duties and village improvements.
