Edwardson a Navy gun captain on the destroyer Newcomb helped repel a fifth five inch gun blast as a Japanese plane attacked off southern Japan. The Newcomb, built in Boston in 1943, was badly damaged but returned to the United States for repairs. Edwardson escaped unharmed.

Mrs Johanson of West Concord Dies at 74
West Concord notices recall Mrs Johanson a longtime resident of 1777 Commonwealth Avenue who died Friday after illness. Rev Henning E Son conducted rites with burial at Be Hollow cemetery.
