Festival of Finnish Club in Maynard Opens Three Day Program
The annual midsummer festival of the Finnish Socialist clubs of New England drew over 5000 visitors to Vose Pond in Maynard July 3–5. Speakers included Oscar Tokio and Mary Donovan, with bands, a 150 voice choir, athletic events, and a parade led by Nicholas Driscoll. The Maynard AA won the athletics section and Gardner and Quincy clubs excelled in relay and field events.

Field Day Attracts 10000 In Maynard Crowe Park Crowd
Ten thousand people attended the Frank J. Demars Post Field Day at Crowe Park Maynard on July 3 4 with 1500 cars parked along the Great Road. A July 3 parade led by the Maynard Brass Band and Gladys Graham featured Troop A U S Cavalry horsemanship and roping. State and local officials addressed the crowd from a grandstand as Reverend Donahue presided.

Concord High School graduate saves child from fire
Miss Olive Hatch a 1924 Concord High School graduate quickly acted when her little niece’s clothing caught fire from sparklers on July Fourth. She tore off burning material and smothered flames, aided by her father Edgar T Hatch, who removed remaining embers. Both Olive and Mr Hatch sustained burns while treating the child, who suffered arm and body burns but is not expected to be seriously harmed.

Acton Woman Completes Property Sale in Walnurt Area
