Concord's 182nd Infantry Begins Fort Devens Training
Concord’s Company H of the 182nd Infantry sails to Fort Devens for a two week annual field training. 60 enlisted men and four officers led by Capt. Paul V. Dee report at the State Armory at 6 AM and depart at 8 AM. The unit joins the 182nd Regimental convoy and trains at Devens with a schedule including bivouac days and Visitors Day on July 17. Governor Christian A. Herter and staff will inspect on Governors Day July 21.

Escapee Inmate Recaptured After Massachusetts Reformatory Escape
Massachusetts reformatory inmate Frank Madore, 23, of Cambridge, who escaped Tuesday afternoon, was captured about seven hours later in woods off Laws Brook Road by Officers George Hardy and Thomas Shaw. Madore, once dubbed the human fly burglar, was serving an indeterminate term for breaking and entering and faced parole in January 1956.

Concord Youth Nabbed in Larceny Suspect Car Theft
An 18 year old Concord youth, John Albert Ames, was arrested Saturday at 3 10 am on Lowell road on suspicion of car larceny. The abandoned car was found on Lowell road out of gas. Deputy Sheriff Lloyd Stone of Webster assisted in detaining him for Concord authorities.
