The state board of health reports water in Maynard is not dangerous and that the issue is a temporary, passing problem. Superintendent Nailor, with Mr. Whittet of the state board, collected samples from White Pond and the receiving wall and found no harmful organism. The board notes scattered trouble across towns and expects water quality to return to normal in a few days.

Hiram J Ayers aged 84 died at Akron Ohio from infirmities of old age. He was the inventor of giant powder. In Merkle Texas a storm partly destroyed the town blowing down a dozen dwellings and many barns and outbuildings. Several persons were injured.
