Anne a Cord Conway graduate of Concord Center class of 1937 debuted in 1987 88 season at Concord Country Club and attends the Child Walker School of Design. Harty a Dartmouth graduate class of 1938 is at Harvard Business School. Dartmouth era member of Zeta Psi. No wedding plans at present.
Concord's William Faversham Jr and partner Wayne Schell were defeated in the final of the annual men's doubles tournament at the Desco club in Sumner. Earlier rounds eliminated Clarence Bodfish and his brother. This weekend the Massachusetts State Class A championships unfold at the University club with Leonard Smith defending the singles title and other Concord entrants aiming for top placings.
The Musketaquid Gun Club will hold its annual feed and officer elections at the clubhouse on Harrington Avenue in West Concord Thursday at 6 P M. President Jack Hilliard will be in charge.

Concord’s historic blacksmith shop on Grant Street was torn down by owner Joseph McGann, whose father T J McGann also worked there. The repair shop, active for over a century, is being replaced by a new facility on Love Lane behind the B and M Depot.

Concord Captain Bruce Pirnie has been promoted to Major in the Quartermaster Reserve after taking the oath of office January 25. Major Pirnie will serve in Boston with the assistant secretary of war’s department, handling wartime supply procurements. He previously served as assistant Quartermaster of the First Corps area in Boston and resigned to join his brother’s insurance business.
Kay Petty Parker, artist and founder of the Hobby School at Newton Lower Falls, shared impressions of Mexico in a Halfer Hall lecture in Sudbury. Her talk drew on paintings made during a long visit and featured analysis of the images to accompany remarks. The event was sponsored by Miss Gertrude M. Halleran.
A large gathering of Acton Young Republican Club members and friends enjoyed a spaghetti supper served by the organization. From 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. supper hours and a social evening followed. The next meeting on February 12 will be an open session with an informal discussion of the warrants to be presented at town meeting on March 11.
West Acton Edwin J Costello has accepted the post as factory manager for the Oldsmobile Boston Branch. He will oversee the manufacturing branch including plating painting and finishing plants. Local friends extend congratulations and best wishes on his new role.
Tuesday morning at the state armory Mrs. Henre M Keyes led Concord Women’s B Badning team in a 3-0 defeat by the A and T Tedesco team of Swampscott in a Greater Boston league contest.
The Tavern Players of Lynn won with Our Town by Thornton Wilder at Concord February 18 and 19 at the Veterans Building. Thirteen groups entered with thirteen plays all judged. Concord's Our Town took first place and will be repeated in Concord with a public second evening.

Concord leads Lexington in the race for a wagered thoroughbred Guernsey bull calf. Jewell notes more people are giving this year and Richardson attended a Boston City Club luncheon last Friday.
A fire started by a spark from a chimney at the Montgomery Parks home on Lexington Road last Sunday evening. Firemen halted the blaze after it burned through the roof into the attic, causing almost $100 in damage before discovery by nearby restaurant patrons.
