Concord notices report a Wil low installation event with Rebekah Judge on Monday night January 22. Norfolk visitor Freelan Dunning stays with uncle T Tuttle. Miss Leona Clem visited Mrs. John Gates. electric cars resume regular runs after gaps. Tyngsboro family Ellis back for winter. coal shipments steady. Birth of baby boy to Mr and Mrs Steven Flannery. Laura Derosie of Lowell visited aunt C B Barrett. Gertrude Towle attended Mount Holyoke Freshman reception. Gertrude Holden returned from Worcester. Clergy exchange session between Rev Ralph Barker and Rev George Tewksbury. Sons of Norway members visited Nordlydo lodge in Boston. Red Cross film night in armory Jan 19. large turnout hoped. Community notes report Daniel Hennessey leaving American Woolen Co work and John McCrossin out of work at Maynard Woolen mill due to slack demand. Other items note midwinter school term, illnesses, a flood of small incidents, a jitney auto starting during a storm, and ongoing search for an Italian murder suspect who fled after the January 4 killing.
Red Cross workers filled the new Davis block quarters on Friday as stitches flew in a beehive of activity to aid the boys. Meetings are held every two weeks to continue the efforts and sew garments and bandages.
Lewis C. Hastings spoke Sunday night at the Universalist church for the P. Co. U. He shared colored picture postal cards from his western trip, displayed with a stereopticon on a large screen, and the audience found it very interesting.
Whitney and Hastings reported their 1918 ice harvested in 1917, praised as far better quality than the mill pond offering. The ice was 13 inches thick and crystal clear, praised as a notable benefit from Jack Frost while noting many residents were hurt by frozen water supply and overwhelmed plumbers.
Rev. Ralph A. Barker presides Sunday worship at 10:30 with Sunday school at 11:45. At 6 the group topic is Young Christians Reaching Outward. Leader Miss Emma Halliday. 7 pm stereopticon lecture marks the 300th anniversary of the Pilgrims landing. Friday 7:30 pm prayer meeting on Profiting by Life's Experiences.

An auction is held at Reed farm 8 Breath West Acton Mass with 60 tons of English and swale hay offered at 1.80 p m on Friday January 25. A sale on Saturday February 2 features 45 to 50 Holstein cows heifers and calves for C F Rich of Querlock Farm West Medway Mass. Catalogues will be available. Otis H Forbush acts as auctioneer.
George Jorson of IMG resident status died Sunday night at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester. He lived there with his wife Elizabeth the past year after earlier work with the National Express Co and American Powder Co. He left for Brewer Maine 16 years ago to enter business. Funeral services were at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester Tuesday afternoon, with burial in the family lot at Glenwood Cemetery after a delegation from Mayard Lodge No 181 met the body.
Friday evening about 30 pupils of the Summer Street School enjoyed a sleigh ride to Hudson with Miss Bessie Hay as chaperone. The group stopped in Hudson for refreshments while horses rested. Three Marlboro sleigh parties joined them to browse stores and snack. They returned home after midnight, tired yet happy, with Master Kajander’s eighth grade report chosen for publication.
Miss Elizabeth Hayward eighth grade teacher resigned and will teach mathematics at Orange high school. Miss Ruth Stevens Spanish teacher also resigned. Many public school teachers struggle to find suitable boarding after the Maynard house fire.
Two nights of music and dancing will be presented by the married men of the Socialist club at Parker Street Hall. The program, including refreshments, has been planned and will be carried out by the group.
A note from Newport R I reports morning worship led by Rev Frederick N Rutan in the chapel on Sunday January 20 with evening service omitted. A separate item mentions coal conservation and Joseph Dale Petateen listed as a member of a force and named to report in Newport R I Friday.
