Born October 9, 1858 in Bath New Hampshire he came to Concord area and worked 54 years in the grocery business. He served Carlisle as postmaster since 1898 and on the board of selectmen three years town clerk five years and as sealer of weights and measures. Survived by widow Mary T two daughters Mrs James H Wilkins present town clerk and wife of the ex State Representative and another daughter in Natick and a son Harold of Natick.
