Obituary: West Concord Elder Blood Dies After Long Illness
Pay final tribute to West Concord resident Thomas Blood who died Saturday night at 366 Main Street after a long illness. Father of Major General Kenneth T. Blood, he leaves son Prentice W. Blood and widow Ella Richardson Blood, plus daughters Hannah and Margaret. two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Born January 30 1861 in Hagerstown Maryland he moved to West Concord in 1889 and lived there 54 years. He retired from Massachusetts Reformatories service, was active in town life and belonged to multiple fraternal and religious groups including I O O F Concord lodge 212 A F & A M the West Concord Union Church and Willow Rebekah Lodge. Concord Fire Department from Central Station fought a small fire at the home of Mr and Mrs Henry P Kidder of 8 Hosmer Road on Monday morning. Box 56 was sounded and all three companies responded, arriving as a workman had the blaze nearly under control. Chief Harry E Tuttle said damage was slight.
