John Prendergast aged 61 of South Street was killed when he slipped before the approaching Boston bound train at Main Street crossing. A B and M railroad veteran of 32 years he previously guarded the crossing for nine years. Medical Examiner Walcott ordered removal. funeral held at St Michael's church Bedford with burial at St Bernard's Cemetery Concord.

Concord held its annual Christmas Eve celebration at Monument Square with a 300 to 400 light tree and an electric star. Children sang carols directed by H N Hudspeth. townspeople filled the square as bells rang at 7 15. Singers visited homes and hospitals, spreading cheer to shut ins and guests. A Christmas tree fund will be formed from surplus funds, with Civic League leadership guiding arrangements.
