Inquest Finds Cause Of Cambridge Baby Death At Walden Pond

Judge Frederick A. Crafts presided over the Walden District Court inquest into the death of 18 month old Craig Stonestreet Jr. of Cambridge. Witnesses included his parents, Anne Stonestreet, 22, Radcliffe senior, and a Browne Nichols School teacher father. The inquest results were read at Walden District and Superior Courts after Attorney James O'Dea, succeeding Ephraim Martin, ordered the inquiry.

Couniham Named Aide to Furculo in Foster Candidacy

Paul G. Counihan of 30 Holdenwood Road has been selected as a military aide to Foster Furcolo. A World War II veteran, he is a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve, son of Judge Edward G. Wandering Inmates Return To Massachusetts Institution

Two inmates at the Massachusetts Institution for Correction returned after an alert warned police of their disappearance. Arthur Cote, 18, from Springfield, and Edward Buckley, 26, Worcester, claimed they wandered away from a farm detail but did not intend to escape. They were placed in the security section. Cote faced two years for assault and battery and Buckley a five year sentence for breaking and entering and larceny.

Refugees Hosted at Concord Homes for Holiday Tour

Hungarian refugees who escaped a war torn country spent a weekend in Concord enjoying welcome parties and American hospitality. They arrived in Cambridge then Concord, staying with local families and attending church services and local events. Interpreters aided communication as they toured landmarks and shared Christmas celebrations.
