Santa visited Concord area on pre Christmas tour
Over 1000 youngsters greeted Santa Claus as the Concord Jaycees staged a land via copter at Emerson Playground. More than 200 children spoke with Santa and received lollypops before he toured shopping areas. In the afternoon Concord Girl Scouts sang carols and the Concord Band performed while Santa spoke with many children and displayed his log of letters to the North Pole.

Concord man Jones alias Arthur Jones took a Florida air trip funded by a check to Peter Grimes travel agent. After a day with a sister he returned ill to Emerson Hospital where he escaped then was recaptured. He appeared in court and was ordered held on 100 dollar bail to make restitution.
