Miss Minnie Chinn visits from Waltham while Miss Marion Foster entertains out of town guests this week. The Sudbury Brass Band will play on Memorial church lawn Thursday evening. John W. Garfield has improved and works with Hurlburt Rogers Machine Co. Grounds and walks at Memorial church are being improved. N H Perkins new double house near the prior fire site is nearing occupancy. Harland H. Rogers moved to a new town house near his greenhouse. A group of Berton dry goods clerks picnic at Heards pond with a Sudbury vs Boston nine baseball game.
Joseph Hunt has gone to Hart Boston to work. Stores will reopen in the afternoon next Wednesday. Elizabeth Mobbs and Douglas Mobbs of Lynn visit. Kathryn Coughlin to wed Arthur Bariteau on Sept 16. Rev James Mudge will preach at the M E church next Sunday. Communion service moved to the second Sunday in September. Many residents visit Cr. hospital. Mrs Dineen reports recovery. St Bridget’s temperance society plans field day with fife and drum corps at Worcester Labor Day.

Local families host visiting relatives from Boston and Groton while the high school and other grades plan a September start. Two local businesses move a sawmill and boiler to a new lot near Mt. President Gompers of the AFL testifies before a labor committee in Boston about injunctions in labor disputes. He argues injunctions should protect property rights, require clean hands, lack remedies if other options exist, respect personal rights, and not override jury trials while urging society to improve minds and public support for labor justice.
A Russian Hebrew man visited a city hospital with a blood disease later diagnosed as leprosy. He had traveled from Lynn and roamed Boston streets for two days before admission. State authorities will transport him to a leper colony.
In a late night rear end collision on the city outskirts two crowded trolley cars collided injuring about a dozen people. Joby Debo den, 16, suffered severe back and head injuries and is believed in critical condition.
To Parents and Guardians of School Children the notice offers free eye examinations before school starts. It warns that poor eyesight causes poor performance and cross eyes or watery eyes may be corrected with proper glasses. Exams run 9 to 11 am, Wednesday excluded, the week before and during the first week of school.
