In Concord District Court on Monday, Peter DiNatale and Paul Connolly faced a daytime breaking and entering charge stemming from a Lexington dentist office break in. Lawrence Harold Keizer Dr H Hugh Quimby Everett Broughtman with President Leonard E Rae presiding. Guests featured Victor Morelis Puerto Rican who spoke about work with Puerto Rican farm hands in the area Rev Edwin B Nylen Norman Cousins Robert Cull. Next meeting set for September 8 at Howard Johnsons.
Professor and Mrs. William M. Cole of 9 Middle Street will observe their 55th wedding anniversary on Monday. They will note the occasion at their summer residence in New Hampshire. Mr. Cole is a retired college professor.
Concord board of selectmen met Monday in routine business. One juror’s name was drawn and will be announced next week. The summer meeting is set for September 7, with regular meetings to follow on Monday evenings at 7 30.
Concord hosted about 48 chief justices from 48 states escorted by local police and guided by Charles Flannery John Lawton and Bowman Sturtevant. Organized by Justice Maurice McWalter the visit followed a Boston ABA convention and included a tea at the Colonial Inn.
Boston patrolman Lawrence Gallagher of Station 6 was injured when his motorcycle skidded on a new macadam surface on Massachusetts Avenue near Concord Hill. He was treated for cuts and bruises at Arlington Symmes Hospital and released. He was headed to Concord District Court to lodge a warrant against a Boston defendant.
Firemen from Concord and West Concord fought a stubborn two hour grass and brush fire atop Heywood Hill in Revolutionary Ridge. Box 147 sounded, then a second alarm with Box 33 147 brought extra units to prevent the flames reaching nearby homes.
West Concord residents Mr. and Mrs. Winfield E. Chaplin at 81 Commonwealth avenue plan their 27th anniversary next Monday August 31. Mrs. Chaplin, formerly Birdice E. Megin, is aunt to Coach Bernie Megin of Concord High School. Mr. Chaplin has run a filling station business for over 30 years.
Mrs Edna Sleeper proprietor of Sunnynook Nursing Home will fly to Minneapolis Minnesota for the nursing home association convention. She joins a 12 person Massachusetts delegation attending a week of lectures by doctors and experts on patient care.
Miss Sara Jane MacLea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stan dish S Rowe of Wintersre st, is engaged to John P. Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt D. Taylor of St. Louis Missouri. Miss MacLea, Concord High School class of 1952, plans to return to Stephens College in September. Mr. Taylor will enter the U S Army in the fall. No wedding date yet.
Concord couple Mr and Mrs Richard E Mill of 48 Walden Street welcomed a daughter born Sunday August 23 at Emerson Hospital in town.

Concord chapter chairman John J. Flynn Jr. urges Concord residents to donate blood when the bloodmobile comes to Concord September 9 from 1 30 to 7 30 p m at the Unitarian Church vestry. He notes that giving blood is personal and receiving blood is more personal as the Defense Department centers close and regional centers take over civilian and defense needs.
Concord firemen rushed Adam Brense a Colonial Inn worker to Emerson Hospital after facial and arm burns from a stove blast at work. A second patient from a Nine Acre Corner farm also required ambulance transport that day.
Mr and Mrs Mason G Foss of Concord observe their 20th wedding anniversary on Sunday August at their summer camp in Port Clyde Maine. Mrs Foss is Evelyn Peters. They have two children Robert and Beverly. Mr Foss, formerly a police officer, now works at the Concord Package Store and is well known.
Mr and Mrs Leslie R Stacey Jr of Brook Street announce the birth of their fourth child and second daughter Cynthia on August 21 at Emerson Hospital Bedford ancestry noted. Grandparents include Leslie R Stacey Sr Bedford Edna Sleeper Carlisle and Ole Sleeper Chelmsford.
