A 56 year old man identified as Meszkenes collapsed in the ring area of the Mill and died. The body was removed by an undertaker, a medical examiner listed heart trouble as the cause. Survived by his wife Anthony, services were held at St Brt's with burial at Pickett's cemetery. Friends paid quiet tributes.

John George Fischer an 18 year old of 40 Sterling street Malden was in Emerson Hospital for nearly five weeks after a July 17 motorcycle crash on Lexington Road left him unconscious. He has now recovered sufficiently to return home on Saturday.

Mrs Karen Marie Johnson aged 69 of 10 Wolcott Street Maynard died Saturday. Born in Denmark she lived in Maynard 28 years with her daughter Cora Johnson and leaves one son and three daughters. Funeral services were held at her home Monday at 2 pm Rev William Boicourt officiated Burial Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Concord flowers showed neighbors and relatives’ esteem.
West Newton baseball team did not show up for the Emerson playground game on Monday evening, leaving a good crowd disappointed as no play occurred.
Maynard residents Maynard and Mrs William Morris observed their sixth wedding anniversary on Saturday August 20 with a family gathering at their Lincoln Street home. Their son Judge Fred Morris of Hudson joined wife and George Lawton and others, sending messages and gifts of gold flowers to honor the couple. Both are respected longtime residents active in community betterment.
Miss Ada Chiabrandi C B S 1925 Concord High School alumna completes a year at Boston University with top grades and a merit scholarship. She was elected delegate to the Alpha Gamma Delta convention at Mackinac Island by her BU chapter. She now works at a Packson Michigan fresh air camp aiding forty children. Plans for Concord Grange No 150 Patrons for Husbandry corn roast include John Raymond and Edgar Clark. Grange resumes Sept 6 with stunt night led by Edward B Caiger and Fred E Power.
Acton residents record weekend visits and substitutions at local workplaces. Guests include Miss Florence Kuhn at Mass General and Miss Louise Zeechie from Boston City hospital. Maud H Priest substitutes at Moore's market. Eddie LeClaire fills Manning's Red White store post. Effie Pickens enjoys Hampton Beach breezes. Rev Barker and wife return from Hast Northfield.
The Middlesex North Agricultural Society in South Acton on August 24 announces 260 in prizes for Acton Fair 1927. Awards cover best agricultural or horticultural exhibits by districts and children, and an individual alfalfa exhibit with methods judged alongside the display. Prizes range from 50 to 6 dollars, with specific allocations for different categories and merit criteria.
Mr and Mrs John Dwight Wilson celebrated their fiftieth anniversary at home on Central street Concord Junction. More than a hundred guests from multiple towns attended as flowers gifts and telegrams flowed in. The bride Agnes Andrew Wilson and groom formerly of Brewer Maine were married August 20 1877. They moved to Concord Junction in 1887 and Mr Wilson retired in 1921 after years as an officer at the Massachusetts Reformatory.

Maynard August 24 local Rexall Drug Store has not changed hands despite a prior item in the Enerprise page from another town. The local store received inquiries but continues to operate at the same location and is doing business as usual.
Eight people in a car broke through barriers at the under repair Shawsheen bridge on Saturday evening. The driver was arrested and appeared in Concord court Monday morning fined $100 for reckless driving.
Captain F. Cook Frederick Lydiard Louis Pfeiffer and Martin H. MacMahon attended a Bennington celebration carrying a duplicate of the Old Bedford flag. The original flag, claimed to be the only one carried at Lexington and Concord in April 1775, remains in a secure vault.
Maynard Aug 24 Employees of the Assabet Mills who hold American Woolen Company common stock under the May 18 1921 subscription plan have been notified to exhibit their certificates at once. After the five year period the company will send checks based on 12.40 per share and holders must present certificates again to receive payment.

Henry Ford arranged with Massachusetts officials to construct about 1.5 miles of state road near the Wayside Inn in Sudbury. The project, costing roughly 280000 dollars, will be financed by the state and supervised by the Department of Public Works. C J Boyer handles on site work for Ford with state engineers overseeing the project.
Peter A Johnson 58 and his eight year old nephew John Maher of Boston died after a noon accident six miles from Emerson Hospital Acton Mohawk Trail collision with a heavy truck. Mrs Johnson and four children had minor injuries. State Patrolman Mond Foley investigated the crash noting Johnson was driving out of line to pass another vehicle.
A sedan owned and driven by William Weaving of Maple Street was struck midships by a hand car on the Boston and Maine line near Summer Street at 7 30 Tuesday morning. The hand car carried nine workmen from Acton to Maynard. no injuries to Weaving or the crew were reported. The report also notes a Lat Day skeet shoot and a house warming at Algo Farm with openings to the public among planned events.
