Police work on theory that Darrah attempted suicide before the murder of his wife Blix in Bedford. Authorities believe he fled northward and may have tried to drown himself in a canal at East Cambridge the day before the crime. Investigators will pursue the theory as a possible motive, with state police aiding the search. The Enterprise notes ongoing developments and potential future details.
