Maynard Finds Montreal a Tourist Paradise Says McCormack
John McCormack, Sudbury Street, fresh from three weeks in Montreal, hails the city as a premier vacation spot. He praises Notre Dame Cathedral paintings, Mt Royal vantage points, McGill University, and hospitable locals with affordable beer and wine, noting saloons sell only beer and wine while stronger spirits are sold in bulk outlets. He adds American visitors flock to Montreal as a summer retreat. The piece ends with an odd note that town authorities regard the number of unborn snakes as marvelous.
