Short's Long Short in Coast Artillery Battery
Camp Callan receives a comic misfit lineup as Dorsey Short and Ernest Long, both unusually tall for their unit, struggle to fit the battery alongside other enrollees. The piece notes their heights and odd placement amid a topsy turvy drill set. It also reports on a China Marches On scene in New York with a Washington statue and Chinatown parade featuring draftees and Chiang Kai-shek imagery.
