Longtime Concord resident and Blanchard Company leader dies Friday at New York hospital after two operations. Born to Hero Blanchard and Julia Wood Blanchard, he attended Concord High School and Harvard, later led the Blanchard Company with his father and served on town committees. Survived by wife Susan, two daughters, and two sons including Nathan and Robert Blanchard.

Catherine Riley Buckley widow of William Buck and mother of Joseph W Buckley of the Concord Post Office died June 14 1868 after a long life of service. The Concord community honored her at home near land where she lived since youth and where she and William Buckley settled after marriage. Her death followed a Sunday morning service at the local church.
