William Jenness aged 83 or 84, Civil War veteran and former Reformatory officer, died April 8 on Barretts Mills Road. Born in Farmington New Hampshire he lived in Concord Junction twenty five years and was active in church and community work. He leaves a wife Elizabeth Mills of Montreal and daughter Flora Molyneux of Malden. Funeral with full military honors at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Concord officiated by Rev. Charl Cleland and Rev. William J. Batt. burial with firing squad from Co. Wf 182nd Infantry Mass National Guard. Burial site Sleepy Hollow. peace memorials and floral offerings noted.

The Concord Female Charitable Society met last Wednesday afternoon at Mrs. Loren B. Macdonalds Lowall Road home. In the president’s absence Mrs Sherman Hoar, with vice president Mrs Henry F. Smith Jr presiding, led the sewing meeting followed by tea and coffee served by Mrs Benjamin R. Bulkeley and Mrs Henry Fith Jr.
The Woman's Club hosted Sudbury Guest Night on Wednesday last week with a long list of attendees. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Baldwin, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Baldwin, Miss Jessie Burnett, Mr. and Mrs. A M Beckwith, Mrs. Chas Baldwin, Mrs. George Clarke, Vincent Clarke, and many more prominent residents and families.

The four act Lenten drama Patricia The Unknown Martyr was staged at Colonial Hall by the Mary Sodality of St Bridget's church. The crowd filled the hall for both afternoon and evening performances. Mary Anelon Helen Morgan and Helen Smith led a large cast in scenes from Augusta's Rome with Prologue and hymns sung by angels and vestal virgins. Rev Edwin Walsh directed the production and praises were given to numerous contributors from Maynard and Concord.
The Concord Musical Club held its annual concert in the Unitarian vestry on Tuesday April 8 at 8 pm with over two hundred attendees. A reception followed with cakes and ives served by Mrs Robb Mrs Proctor Mrs Leith and Mrs Theodore Smith. ushers were Misses Helen and Margaret Smith. The program featured varied selections from violin and piano solos to songs and quartets by several composers and performers. The First Parish Easter Service will include a quartet and organ program with Mrs Wallace B Conant Miss Hazel Fairfield Mr D P Wilson and Mr Crames W Locks performing Easter anthems and Mr Arthur Lamb at the organ.
