Warren will contest reveals struck residuary name

In Middlesex Probate Court a contest over George A. Warren's will shows a residuary beneficiary name struck out in red ink after execution. Warren died December 13, 1996, and testimony indicates the clause concerning burial and avoidance of death notification was altered. Witnesses describe an all typed will reviewed by attorney J William Byron who confirmed its legality despite the strikeout. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 90 for Francis B. Shepley who died Tuesday April 6 at his Monurent ment street residence in Concord. Burial followed at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Born January 6 in Fitchburg to Stephen and Martha Shepley, he attended Harvard and spent 63 years in New England railroads, retiring last July after 81 years as treasurer of the Lomont and Massachusetts company. Mrs Louis A Sohier was elected president at the annual meeting held in the afternoon. The retiring president Mrs Alexander C Peters served two years.
