Wacisman's Hut Wins Concord Library Photo Exhibit

The Concord Free Public Library photo exhibition awards were announced by Mrs. Wadsworth. Eva Howard's The Wacisman's Hut won first place. Whitney Cook's The Skater and Philip A. Davis Jr.'s The Shipyard at Essex tied for second. five more entries by Davis, Wheeler, Chambers, Cook, and Sohier received next ratings. The exhibit will run at the library until about mid month.

Masquers To Stage The Colonel's Maid Comedy

Concord society Masquers plan their fourth annual public performance on April 14 in the high school auditorium. The comedy by C. L. Dalrymple explores a Capulet Montagu inspired plot with a lively cast led by Elizabeth Reid Virginia Rider and Mr Lamb. The group funds The Voice charity and aims to attract twenty members and the community.

Lecture On Modern Pewter At Concord Club

The West Concord Woman's Club meets Friday April 14 in Odd Fellows hall at 3 o clock. Mrs Thomas Crawford speaks on Pewter in the Modern Home with antique and modern pieces. Mrs Fred Babcock of Marlboro will be the soloist. members may bring handiwork for an exhibit arranged by Mrs Winslow Damon. The Concord public schools health department resumes free diphtheria immunization for pre school and school children. Clinics are April 23 at Peter Bulkeley School 9 am and West Concord School 10 30 am urged for un immunized children to attend.

King's Daughters Elect Officers for Next Year

Pictures Of A Hurricane Show In Concord April 21

A church lecture sponsored by the Church Aid Society of Trinity Episcopal will present color photos by Mr. Blackington. He crossed Long Island Sound on September 21, 1938, filming New England before and after a major hurricane, covering Charlestown Galilee Misquamicut Newport Westerly Rhode Island.

Good Friday Service at Trinitarian Congregational Church

A three hour Good Friday service was held last week at the Trinitarian Congregational Church. The pastor led the service assisted by Rev. Charles Russell Peck Rev. Otto Rafos Rev. Charles Styron Rev. Kenneth R. Teeg and Rev. Robert Putech. Soloists were Mrs Jease Pooter Miss Elaine Tirrell and Mrs. Guy Moulton with organist Mrs Marguerite Parnes and a chorus of sixteen assisting.

The Master Service of the Church School of the First Parish Church was held in the vestry at 430 Sunday afternoon. Children and School members presented An Easter Play written for the School by Allen Frereh. Easter plants were distributed among School members.

The Concord Young Republican Club held its final regular meeting of the season at former QM Whitney’s home on Marketquad road. Flag Pole Contract Awarded for Concord Project

Concord awards the Pigeon Mollow Company a contract to erect a 198 foot Douglas fir flag pole to replace the hurricane damaged mast. The town will dig the installation hole and the company must finish erection by April 20 at a cost of 1,180.
