Neils Hansen moved to Heedford to work while Maynard basketball team prepares for Cambridge game Saturday night. Burns spent a few days with ward friends. Thomas Fryer returned to town to work in the mill. Mrs Albert Randell and daughter visited relatives in Charlestown. John Hi, now in Watcheren, hosts guests of Ma friends for a week. Beniah Sims recovers from Summer St crossing injuries. Mr and Mrs John Weaving returned from Fitchburg where they worked. Miss Maud McClure of West Medway visited her father J. E. McClure. A mass meeting of the Maynard weavers is set for Cooperative hall Friday to discuss decisive action. Annette Frizelle to give a song recital in Masonic hall on April 10 with Ida M. Butters and the Schubert string orchestra assisting. Robert W. Carter leads the affair. Loyal Wamesit Lodge degree staff, with many members, visited Loyal Assabet lodge Saturday night, performing the initiatory degree followed by supper, then a musical entertainment and a speech.
J B McLellan foreman of Pitman Co denies at town meeting claims that carpenters were promised liquor and that workers clocked extra hours on the pest house project. He states no liquor was used to spur work and the extra time on the final day was to finish the job for quarantine use, with only a voluntarily purchased whiskey by David Henderson at night.
The Enterprise will raise advertising rates effective May 1. One inch first insertion 50 cents and 12 1 2 cents for subsequent insertions. Rates apply up to five inches. over five inches 25 cents first, 10 cents each subsequent. Yearly or half yearly contracts exempt from first insertion increase. Ads due by Tuesday night to fit same week issue. Delivery and submission details noted.
Miss Marion Williams returns from New York trip and reports an enjoyable visit. Various church events, societies, and lodge activities are announced with times and leaders. A steam roller sighting prompts a near accident. driver F C Ring rescues a girl uninjured.
In Concord the Lyceum session is moved to April 22. Local officials John M. Keyes chairs the road commission with William Wheeler heading the water and sewer board and Walter Hubbard as secretary. Dan Berry has sold his farm and the milk route passes to Richard Williams, the new owner.
