Graceffa rolled a 331 for the evening high three strings as King’s Package Store beat DiPietro Roofers in the Mayorard intra town bowling league at Trtto’s Alleys. The win extends their lead by five points with a strong team performance.
Post season play features high single scores by H Loop 94 110 127 with a top 127. Cullinane Haulers beat Tarnv Trimmers 3 1 while Flinwood Bath and Firestone drew 2 2. Nesnite Tutto led Firestone with a 71475 team score. Cullinane 1673. The fishing season began today in 10 eastern and southern Maine counties including Androscoggin Cumberland Hancock Kennebec Knox Lincoln Sagadahoc Waldo Washington and York. The first Bangor salmon will be sent to the White House for President Eisenhower as fishing expands in stages with Franklin Oxford Penobscot and Somerset opening April 15 and Aroostook Piscataquis opening later. Concord manager Karl Spooner’s Community League players played ghost basketball lights out to highlight key plays. Bob Witherell led scoring with 49 in Brandeis small-ball tourney. Belmont’s Mel Wenner named director of faith and physical education. Bedford’s George Blackburne and Lexington’s Eddie Kinneen boosted Concord as they beat Town Line 70 to 57 for their third win.
Concord local golf champions for 1953 include men and ladies across clubs with winners named for Concord Cal Geary and Vic Milewiski among men and Gladys Wattu and Mrs Hutchinson among ladies. Lexington Allan Mead Marlboro Brad Armour cited. 1952 champion noted.
