Community events gather for minstrel shows and dances
Regular meetings and social events fill the week with a Grange gathering in Town hall next Monday at 8 led by Westford and Chelmsford Granges. Bedford Grange plans a minstrel show Friday at 8. Laymen's League hosts a social dance Saturday with Berry's orchestra 8 to 11:45. Firemen held a successful dance last Monday. Louise Catherine Kappel and Judge John Freemont Brown announce their marriage on March 24 at the Church of Christ.

Fire destroys barn at Fletcher estate on Fletcher Road
Local fire department responded last Thursday at 7 30 to a large blaze on the Mary Fletcher estate. The barn used as a stable by Waldo Spaulding was a total loss. George Wilson and family occupied the other half of the house. Fire investigation is underway.

Concord Women's Club Hosts Talk on Civics and Gardens
At the club meeting on Monday March 26 Chester B. McGown of the American International College Springfield Mass spoke on civic work and the need to train good citizens for new arrivals. Miss Mary Harrod Northend discussed Gardens old and new with views of local Salem gardens. The annual meeting is set for April 9 with reports and officer elections from 3 to 3 30 followed by readings by Susie L Andrews, concert by Selah Mac Pherson Parker, and Dorothy Elizabeth Beaton, then tea.
