Johnson City News Roundup Contests Prohibition, Burglaries and Commerce

Merited Promotion At BTVG R R And Prohibition Speech
Merited promotion reports Mr P H Ponder from depot agent at Newcombe Tennessee to train dispatcher under Mr Garrett at Epoxyville. Ponder began his duties last Monday, on a midnight to 8 a m shift. He is brother to S H Ponder of this city and many locals celebrate his advancement. A large Bristol crowd heard Rev J T Kinsannon deliver what some call the campaign’s best prohibition address at Anderson's Hall last night. Dr Kincannon is praised for his local reform efforts. In other business Trig Co files attach ment against Oliver Lumber Co in Washington County Tennessee over a 110 09 debt. Oliver Lumber Co is non-resident and must appear Oct 16 at Johnson City before Justice T H Lusk to defend or default.
