Asheville must stay in league play as officials outline continued membership requirements and scheduling constraints for the club amid ongoing conference discussions.
At Knoxville on Saturday the Appalachian League directors rejected Asheville Baseball club’s bid to withdraw from the league after lengthy discussion. President Jacob Smith presided. attendees included Dukett of Asheville, Bernard, Copenhayer, Bullivan, Cass, Meffett, Morgan, and Doser Moore. The vote showed Asheville unlikely to join the Carolina Association and a second meeting is planned early next year to set officers and plan for the next season.
Beaumont & Co. of Knoxville awarded the contract to build the new passenger depot for the Santh valley project. Work begins immediately under the given timetable.

Patrick Bohen a veteran of the soldiers home was found dead in a Planters hotel room Wednesday after returning from Dayton Ohio . He had 76 on his person and his remains were sent to Mountain Branch Soldiers home for burial.

Henry J Deaderick aged 14 dies from blood poisoning after a Sunday accident at his McNate apartment. Funeral services will be conducted at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Jeniah Bibley officiating. Survived by his widow and other relatives.
