Bunco Victims Duped in Syracuse by Green Goods Men
Two Tennesseans, Mr. Pippin and Mr. McRoberts of Johnson City, were lured to Syracuse by a counterfeit money scheme. They met with operators under aliases at Congress Hall and Empire House, wired for meetings, and were shown bundles of fake bills. Money and goods were exchanged, then the victims discovered only worthless paper, returning to report to police. The con men used fictitious names and were tracked by investigators seeking indictment.
