Bristol Tenn October 6 The suit against Senator J Parke Worley to recover about 7000 alleged misappropriations while state revenue agent was dismissed with the state paying costs. Worley’s counsel says the state could not prove its case and the verdict vindicates him though he is said to owe about 1900 in the period’s expenses.
Helen Dorcas Kegley, the bright daughter of Mr and Mrs Earnest Kegley, died Saturday night at 7:30 at their Walnut Street home after a brief illness. The funeral was held Monday at 2 pm with Rev Riddell and Dr Dobbe officiating, and burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Kegleys and friends extend sympathy in their bereavement.
Paul Hagen, a brewing company financial agent, testified that the claim he gave $750 to Thomas Taggart for the 1914 election was false. He actually delivered the money to Democratic headquarters and did not know the recipient. He admitted being a businessman but said the amount went to the right place.
