Wooldridge Named GOP Nominee in Third District

In Knoxville on September 2y to 11, James R. K. Wooldridge of Newcomb Tenn was nominated after forty ballots in the Third senatorial district convention. W. P. Brownlow’s bid with W. C. Davis was thwarted by Second district delegates who backed D. M. Swab, a coal operator, amid calls of a political ruse. The outcome favors Wooldridge due to the district’s Republican strength and Brownlow’s loss of support.
