Mountain Visit and Cranberry Mine Excursion
A group led by Col Nimpson toured Cranberry and the Gorge on a special train to inspect the iron ore project. They witnessed the new two hour and thirty minute schedule, viewed Doe River canyons, and heard plans on mining the Cranberry ore, touted as the highest magneitic ore and a premier steel ore. Col Nimpson welcomed guests at Cranberry and Col Reeves presented a gold headed cane to honor the day while Maj Folsom spoke for the group. The trip ended with dinner at the Cranberry Hotel and a lengthy address on future prosperity from Col Nimpson and thanks to the hotel staff.
