In the Elizabethton Mountain Echo of the 28th a communication states that the 86 line will not be built via Bakeraville through Johnson City. It argues the route is impracticable and not intended as final, and that the company favors coming via North Carolina to buy the BE, T. and W. N. C. Railroad, widen gauge, reach Watauga Point, and proceed to Kingsport as the cheapest, by necessity.
