Time Table and Crime Reports From Johnson City
In Johnson City on March 21 184 the time table for the East Yeunessee and Western North Carolina Railroad is noted along with a sale of coffee sugar and syrups at low prices. Freight car No 9 was broken into on the Bristol to Johnson City line with three sections affected. A box of school books directed to a Louisiana college was found broken open. Maj Huger offered 25 reward for thieves. A dead infant was found near Garven’s land and coroner’s inquest held. Mary E Phillips was suspected but discharged after a short investigation.
