Alfalfa Campaign to Promote Alfalfa Across Iowa and Missouri
The Chicago Burlington and Quincy railway will run an alfalfa combination train for two weeks starting July 28, 1919, visiting about 60 stops in southern Iowa and northern Missouri. More than 600 alfalfa lectures will be delivered by speakers aided by 600 to 700 automobiles. Local committees arrange transport, halls, and requests, while the railroad provides sleeping cars, dining, and exhibit cars. The Agricultural Extension Department supplies speakers and campaign materials. Cooperation from farmers and business people is essential.
