Seventeen Counties Will Spend 4 Million On Roads
The State Department of Highways reports seventeen Tennessee counties will invest about 4.022 million dollars in road building this year with fourteen in East Tennessee, two in Middle Tennessee, and one in West Tennessee. An additional 1.4 million in bond elections may raise total road spending to about 5.072 million.

Mr. L. D. Weiss of the Dune Woolen Mills received a telegram Tuesday announcing the death of his father, D. Weins, in a Chicago hospital following an operation. He was 64 years old.

The Martha Wilder Parents Teachers Association held its December meeting presided by Mrs O K Morgan. A fund of 41190 was reported to buy clothing for needy children. Southern Railway to showcase South's grain at fairs
The South’s grain producing section will be highlighted at thirty state, district and county fairs in the North and Middle West this fall. South ern Railway and affiliated lines will exhibit grain sheaves from fields yielding up to 40 bushels per acre, grasses, forage crops, fruits, and vegetables in jars. Exhibits travel from Virginia to Kentucky and will visit Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois with agents to explain the regions. A special tent will serve Middle West fairs, and the Southern Railway exhibit is well known and anticipated.
