Good Wiring A Music County Agriculture Agent
Inadequate wiring on many farms causes voltage drops of 10 percent or more, equating to 12 volts on a 120 volt circuit and a 30 percent dimming of lamps. Motors lose about 20 percent power, heating gives only 80 percent output, and newer uses require more feeder line wire and extra circuits. Farmers should consult electricians or their agricultural engineer and power supplier to plan remodeling or major rewiring as needed.
