County Court items include marriage licenses issued since Sept 20 and births recorded the past week in Comanche Rising Star Sipe Springs Gap and other towns. Grand jurors summoned for County Court and first week district court petit jurors listed with long rosters.
All day services were held at Sweetwater last Sunday to ordain two new deacons Messrs Artie Lloyd and Wester Beck. The community turnout included Mt Pleasant and Union Valley with a large crowd. Dinner was served on the ground and ideal weather made it a very enjoyable day.
Robert Janes and progressive neighbors in Bibb tested a fertilizer mix of 2 percent nitrogen 1 S percent acid phosphate and 2 percent potash at about $22 per ton on crops including corn cotton potatoes sugar cane and more. Cotton from fertilized rows weighed 13 ounces per 50 bolls versus 12 ounces unfertilized, with fertilized cotton near half a bale per acre and unfertilized about one sixth. Corn yields doubled with $1.10 worth per acre, and peanuts plus corn on a government demo plot show strong profits. The study argues improved stands faster maturation and earlier weevil avoidance, while the theater notes describe upcoming performances and a moral tone.

The Comanche Chief and Pioneer Exponent merge, with Tom Bell editor and manager and T. J. Cunningham as associate.
The Pythian Sisters announce meetings at four oclock on Thursdays after noon during the first three Thursdays of each month and Friday night on the fourth Friday of each month. Meetings occur in the Odd Fellows hall on the north side and members are urged to attend.
