Comanche native Gene Arthur earns jet pilot wings at Laredo
Gene Arthur, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Arthur of Comanche, is among 79 aviation cadets receiving silver pilot wings and commissions at Laredo Army Air Base. The first jet pilot class at Laredo completed T-28 training at Perrin AFB with no accidents. Arthur, a Comanche High School graduate, later married Patsy Smith of Brownwood at the base chapel.
