Escapees Nabbed After Quick Jail Break
Escapee Stephen O Sanders 23 from Gorman and Billy Scott 17 of Denton are recaptured. Sanders was arrested in Ada Oklahoma for parole violation and car theft and returned to Eastland County. Scott was arrested in De Leon after escape from jail last week.

Gail Conway Named National Merit Semifinalist for 1970 71
CHS senior Gail Conway son of Mr and Mrs Jerry Conway Rt 3 has qualified as a National Merit semifinalist. He serves as CHS FFA chapter secretary and holds first chair trombone in the Indian Band. Semifinalists are judged on a February test and may compete for 1000 scholarships and Merit Scholarships.
