Mrs. E V Gill 80 of Levelland and formerly of Comanche died Friday in a Levelland hospital after several months illness. Services were Sunday at the Austin Street Church of Christ with Ministers O H Tabor and J W Davis officiating. Burial followed in Levelland Cemetery. Surviving are three sons W A and E V Gill Jr of Waco and R D Gill of Amarillo. four daughters Oda Nowlin Port Arthur BE L Cocks Hatch NM Laura Walker and Faye Rogers both of Levelland. fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Inductions in Texas for October and other dual notices were scheduled.
Brigadier General Paul Wakefield, state Selective Service director, announced an October quota of 1122 Texans to be inducted. A total of 2630 men from 69 of 137 boards will undergo combined physical and mental examinations, with those boards noting many older registrants yet to be examined.
