Comanche School Board Awards 1.6 Million High School Contract
The Comanche School Board accepted the low bid from Droemer Construction of Giddings Texas for a new high school facility with a base bid around 1.61 million dollars. Total project cost including improvements runs about 1.63 million dollars with landscaping furniture and ongoing progress changes. The plan yields a 21 classroom building with gymnasium 720 seats a cafeteria auditorium activity center library agriculture and auto shop band hall and administrative area. The site includes student and faculty parking tennis courts and separate entry and exit drives. Construction could start within two weeks and finish by January 1977 depending on weather.

Comanche County Fair Poised For Kick Off

Comanche County Fair entries are nearly complete with local and out of town contestants. A workshop is set for Sunday November 2 at 2:00 PM in Comanche High School Home Economics, followed by a 5:00 PM rehearsal. A November 6 tea for contestants and judges from Brownwood occurs at 5:30 PM, with the country pageant at 7:00 PM at the Fair Grounds where judges assess outfits and look for the in look. prizes include trophy and 100, second 50, third 25.
