Airman Jackie Croker of the United States Navy has returned home from a 30 day leave to visit his parents Mr and Mrs C W Croker. He had been stationed in Guam and returned to the states last month and is assigned this week to Norman Oklahoma.
Noah Mackey Chapman 62 WWI veteran of Sidney and farmer N M Chapman native Texan died Sunday October 25 funeral at Sidney Methodist Church with Rev J D Hodges Interment Pendergrass Cemetery pallbearers listed Chapman born November 3 1890 son of William F Chapman and Sarah McEntire Chapman married to Romeo Washington survived by spouse.
Mr. and Mrs. John D. Waring visited Austin on Thursday for the inaugural ceremonies at the University of Texas with St. Logan Wilson as president and a luncheon honoring him. Mrs. Waring, Hood College graduate of Frederick Maryland, was invited to represent Hood College at the event.
Corporal Edward A. Adams of Sipe Springs receives the Bronze Star Medal with Valor device for heroism near Pangal Korea on 18 July 1953. Under heavy fire he led a counterattack, mortally wounded and captured enemy fighters, reflecting great credit on himself and the U.S. Army. He entered federal service from Texas.
Mr and Mrs C C Woods of Purves announce a celebration Sunday afternoon November 8 at the Congregational Methodist Church on Purves Road marking their 64th wedding anniversary and his birthday. A singing event will be held in connection with the observance.
