Harmony and Mercer County Families Gather for Weekend Visit

Harmony residents hosted relatives from Newbury Robertsonville and nearby communities while Rev. Wynne and Rev. Ray conducted services. Visitors included the Shoemakers, Thomas families, and multiple Rogers households with updates on a newborn and a serious illness.

Renfro Named to Compile Acts of 39th Legislature

Thomas J. Renfro, Mills County senior law student and state representative, is appointed by the Secretary of State to compile and index the acts of the special session. He becomes the youngest person to hold this responsibility as the latest official addition to the state's laws. Also, an ad seeks a first class farm hand with good wages.

Baby Show Prize Winner Added to Coker Family List

The baby show at the fair awarded third prize in the girls division to the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Coker who received the Blue Ribbon. The full prize list could not be published in the prior issue due to incomplete information.

Pearl Godfrey has returned from Central Texas Sanitarium Brownwood after five weeks. Ma and Mrs Wilkie Glasgow visited Mrs Glasgow's parents in Comanche Saturday night. Leston and Gama Bain of Fleming stayed with Stell and Stile McEntire. Mrs Elmer Roe and Mrs J W Holt visited Brownwood Monday.

Elm Grove Sunday School Attendance Low

Elm Grove church attendance was light on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Woolsey of Hasse visited with Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Woolsey. Mr. and Mrs. John Ferris and children stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Turner of Mount Pleasant. Mrs. E. C. Houck returned from Hamilton where her daughter Mrs Everett Maddox is seriously ill. Mrs. S. D. Hurt and children attended services in Sidney Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Ferris visited with Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Smith on Sunday evening.
