Five Comanche Co Farms Saved From Foreclosure
Five Comanche County farms have been saved from foreclosure since September 1 1935 through the Government Resettlement Administration program. Refinancing farm debts and coordinated efforts by local officials reduced state farm debts by 1 020 487 dollars and arranged 179 233 dollars in tax payments covering 597 252 acres. The program, begun by President Roosevelt in 1933, aims to prevent foreclosures and aid agricultural rehabilitation with free services to distressed farmers.
