Thirty younger athletes aged 8 to 13 competed in Comanche County's 72 Pass Punt and Kick, with 103 participants and 18 first place winners advancing to zone competition in San Angelo on October 7. Trophies were awarded at the Indians football game on Friday night.

Mrs Eva Stapp 76 Pecos resident died in Alpine hospital Wednesday morning Oct 4 at 5. Funeral services will be held Saturday in Pecos. Surviving are her son Farl Stapp and brother Archie Redwine both of Combache.

Funeral services for Ada Elizabeth Janes 86 of Keene and Fort Worth were held at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Petty officiating. She died October 1 in a Keene nursing home. Survived by six sons and three daughters, she was born April 15, 1886 in Williamson County and lived in Comanche County many years.
